The Waves Group at NCEP/NOAA in partnership with the University System of Maryland Foundation will be offering a one-week waves workshop at the University of Maryland College Park Campus this summer. Topics covered will include wave dynamics and modeling, basics of the WAVEWATCH III® model, grids, structures, numerics, oceanic and nearshore applications. The workshop will consist of morning lectures and afternoon tutorials. Announcement is here (pdf).
The summer school runs for one week, July 22nd - 26th, 2019, Monday through Friday, 8:am - 5:00pm.

This year we have a wait-list. If any of the registered participants withdraws, the spot is offered to the first person on the wait-list. Otherwise, people on the wait-list are given priority to register in next year's course.
The cost of the workshop is US $300. Payment is by credit card. This year there is funding to cover registration costs for 3 graduate students in good standing. To be considered for this funding, please email Deanna.Spindler@noaa.gov explaining your research goals, computer experience, and why you wish to attend the workshop. An email from your advisor supporting your application will be beneficial. All emails must be received by the end of the day of April 15th, 2019. We will contact applicants with our decision by the 30th of April, 2019.
